The Great American Cleanup is scheduled to occur in the City of Peoria on April 29th. This year’s theme, “Clean Your Block Party”, provides an opportunity to spread the word on beautifying communities, educate and encourage volunteers to build a sense of community pride and stewardship, and offer experiences that help change community behaviors block by block. In support of this effort, the City of Peoria Community Development Department, along with Keep Peoria Beautiful, will continue to aid in the facilitation of volunteer events and education programs that help to remove litter and debris, reduce waste and improve recycling throughout the community.
While it is important to maintain clean and healthy neighborhoods year round, this nationwide cleanup effort is a wonderful opportunity for the City to partner with neighborhood associations to make a lasting impact.
